Soumen began his careeer in Software Engineering over 25 years ago. His first job was at Bangalore, at Novell, and he went on to spend his initial years as a software engineer working for Development Centers for global MNCs in Bangalore.

He has Engineering Leaderhip expertise of almost 2 decades, including experience at Amazon and Google. His most recent corporate role has been as VP Product Development at Amagi. Soumen currently works with early stage startups, providing engineering consultation.

He has actively worked for corporate DEI activities over the past decade, driving departmental initiatives at Google, and has been part of the DEI council at Amagi.

Soumen has experienced the professional side of DEI challenges faced by large companies as they open new centers and organically grow. In his personal life, Soumen experienced some of the challenges faced by immigrants, during his childhood in the UK. As such, he has an understanding of being regarded an outsider, and, on the flip side, an understanding of the unconscious privilege of being an insider.
